John and Judy Pater have been partners in the business since 1986. In 1988, they married, purchased their original Indiana homestead in Aurora, and started their family. Johns working career has evolved from framing carpenter, exterior trim carpenter, interior trim and cabinetry installer, design/build cabinetmaker/custom remodeling, architectural millworker, door designer/fabricator, historic window fabricator and restorer.
We live and work on 68 beautiful river valley acres. After we moved to Aurora, John spent ten years designing and fabricating custom high end cabinetry for the Greater Cincinnati market. In 1997, we expanded, adding production milling equipment and went on to participate in three large casino interiors that we were fortunate to locate in our county and the neighboring one. By 2000, we bought European high end production window making equipment to make historically correct, true mortise and tenon replicated and custom windows and doors.
Since this time we have replicated thousands of historic sash and whole window units, made and restored hundreds of doors from churches to brew pubs to ultra high end homes, made custom moldings and pre-finished them for the newest skyscraper in Cincinnati. We have made custom residential libraries in Greenwich, Connecticut and Key West, Florida.
We have two sons, Jeffrey and Benjamin, who have worked with us in the business while also exploring other options for their careers. Both are interested in living on the family farm and carrying forward the business when our time for retirement comes. Like most small successful business owners, we love what we get to do for a living. We consider it a privilege to help our customers bring their visions to life.
